Learning with Purpose, Inspired to Serve!

Our Year 3/4 class has been on an incredible journey, exploring how the beliefs and actions of organisations like Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) make a difference in the world. Through this inquiry, students have stepped into the shoes of others, gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to serve and support those in need.
Here are some heartfelt reflections from our students:
“It was an exciting feeling to be raising money – to then spend on Gifts of Grace.”
“Thank you for helping us see what people miss out on.”
“We got to feel what other people feel.”
“It was fun raising money, I really enjoyed it, and I would like to do more like this.”
“Thank you for organising this and teaching us how to work with money.”
“Thanks for helping us realise how lucky we are and to help other people through ALWS.”
Through their learning, students not only developed practical skills like managing money but also grew in empathy, compassion, and gratitude. We’re so proud of their enthusiasm and their desire to make a difference!
A big thank you to ALWS for inspiring our students to embrace wonder, love, and courage in their actions. We look forward to our next series of market stalls next Friday. Together, we’re building a community that serves.
