School Fees
Our school fees are designed to affordable while provide exceptional education with flexible payment options.
We are proud of our region and what our school has achieved over the last 120 years, and we want to ensure that our education offering is here for future families to enjoy. We believe that no child should be excluded from attending St John’s for financial reasons.
We believe that no child should be excluded from attending St John’s for financial reasons. There are two ways parents can gain financial assistance if difficulties are experienced in meeting fee commitments. The first way is the school card system. This is the major avenue of assistance. For more information about our school fees, payment plans, or available discounts please contact our school Finance Manager Belinda Niemz.

Device Fees*
Foundation year – year 4
Students commencing Foundations will be provided with an Apple iPad, which will follow them all the way through to the end of year 4. At the end of year 4, the family will be given the option of purchasing the iPad for $150.00 (as long as the student family account balance is $0)
Years 5 – 6
Students commencing Year 3 in 2023 were provided with a laptop, which will follow them all the way through to the end of year 6. The family will be given an option to purchase the laptop after the end of year 6 for $250.00 (as long as the student family balance is $0). In 2026 we intend to phase in iPads. More information about what this entails will come out towards the end of 2024.
Capital Levy**
This is an annual fee charged to each family, which will go towards building for our future and our maintenance program, repayment of loans and the development of new learning spaces.
Payment options
To help our community, the Board has decided to support families in the following ways. These fee changes will in no way impact our educational offering.
Please note that all these support structures and incentives will be reviewed throughout the year and evaluated in detail at the end of 2025.
Payment plans
School fees can be paid through an agreed payment plan. Fees can be paid annually, by term, monthly, fortnightly or weekly.
Discount for advanced payments
Accounts paid in full by Tuesday 25 February 2025, will attract a 10% discount off the annual Base School Fee.
School Card discounts
Discounts of up to 40% are available for all families that qualify for School Card which is still available for the 2024 school year. Click here to find out more. For 2025 we intend to match the Government and Catholic School Card income limits.
Although non-school government schools do not receive any School Card funding, we do use the eligibility test to allocate a further discount of 40% to the Base School Fee to eligible students. The income limits are set each year by DECD and are based on the prior year’s income tax return. The school doesn’t see this data but is simply notified of the result from the State Government. Application forms can be obtained from the school or from www.sa.gov.au.
For families who do not qualify for School Card and are experiencing financial hardship, a fee remission process and or payment plan is available.
Please do not hesitate to contact the office to make an appointment to explore your options. We understand that these conversations are incredibly difficult, however we are committed to handling the matter with the utmost confidentiality and are here to help and guide you through this process.
